A
number of our members have written in to say that their favorite site www.welloiledpc.com
looks very good now and that the new Menu structure is just great. Dear
Member, we have quietly worked in the background to re-vamp the earlier
Frames-based Menu system into something that will let you jump from any
page on our site to any other page. In addition, the contents are now
neatly ordered and you will find related content under the same Menu Item.
We have replaced the Frames-based Menus with contemporary Javascript-based
Menus, in line with the trends at leading sites worldwide! We thank all
members who have written in - and urge those who have not, to check out
our re-vamped site!
With
these changes, our Alexa Ranking has gone up from about 4.7 Million to 1
Million as of 23rd October, before stabilizing at the 1.5 Million mark!
Further, we have broken the 25,000 mark for Indian sites, with an India
Alexa rating of under 25,000, for the first time in the 6 months of our
existence! Needless to say, this is a HUGE encouragement to us, one that
humbles us with a feeling of great responsibility. We shall strive to
bring you the very best information, at all times!
With
the festive season approaching, vendors worldwide are targeting you with
special offerings. We are sure many of you plan to purchase a Notebook or
Desktop, either for your personal use or as a gift for someone dear to
you! So, here are a few of the current offers!
-
IBM-Lenovo
have just announced a 25% discount on all their Notebooks and
Desktops. This is a global offer, check your country-specific
IBM-Lenovo site for exact details!
-
Sony
have slashed the prices of their Vaio range of Notebooks. Buying a
Vaio has never been so cheap, with prices beginning at $1,250 (INR
50,000)!
-
hp
have introduced several new Notebooks, with various OEM versions of
Window Vista - check out your country-specific hp site - you're sure
to find a model with just the specifications you need!
-
Dell
continues to offer a huge range of Notebooks and Desktops, allowing
you to pick and choose your configuration. Do check out the price of
your chosen configuration, however - Dell's add-ons add significantly
to the total cost of the system!
-
Acer
have introduced a number of neat Notebook models, both with the Turion
processor as well as the Core 2 Duo processor. Although most Acer
models ship with LINUX, purchasing a separate copy of the Vista
edition of your choice and an Anti Virus solution, is an option that
you should consider - the total cost still compares favorably with
other leading-brand Notebooks!
-
Other
Notebook brands - Toshiba, Fujitsu, etc., should be coming out with
their special schemes soon, we are sure.

Add-ons |
Web
Cam:
If you plan to do a lot of video conferencing/ chatting, check out
models with built-in Webcams. The option of adding a separate Webcam
would be a better option though
Fingerprint
Security: This
is a great option, if you leave your Notebook open and would not
like others to see your files. A number of Notebook brands include a
Fingerprint Scanner in their core models.
Data
Card:
If accessing the Internet is vital, you ought to consider purchasing
a Data Card. Although slower than the slowest of Broadband
connections, it will let you connect to the Internet from places
where the service provider has coverage. |
